It seems you and I have a lot in common, mainly being synesthetes and studying biology. And Japanese of course!! I am a biology/theatre double major. As for assigning gender to the days of the week, I DEFINITELY do that, but it's because I have something called grapheme --> color synesthesia. That means I permanently associate each letter and number with a particular color. So, since M is pink, Monday seems female to me... and since Tuesday has a lot of blue and green, it seems female. Do you have grapheme --> color synesthesia? I used to think everyone had some kind of letter-color association, until a couple years ago I brought it up to someone and she had no idea what I was talking about!
